This is part 2 of our Belgium trip we took in the beginning of December. One of our top priorities in Brussels was visiting Euro Parliament. I am so glad we did, it was so interesting. We really enjoyed touring the buildings and their museum was so fascinating. We spent hours walking though and reading each exhibit. Pictured below is one of the many parliament buildings. As we were there right after the terrorist attacks in Paris security was really tight, but also there were not a lot of tourists. On our tour of the inside of the parliament building there were only two other people in our group.
One euro over all.
This was a really interesting exhibit. Each colour represents the different parties in the euro parliment and then each figure has a flag to show what country they represent, and then there are male and female figures to show their gender. Members of the euro parliment will join the party that their home party is affiliated with.
Fun fact, the European Union won a nobel prize in 2012. They keep it here.
Tiny door inside a big door!
Christmas Market!
Ghent was a really fun town to visit. I wanted to see the Ghent Alterpiece, but we loved the whole city. Although it is not quite as charming as Brugge, it is still full of beautiful streets, and delicious food. Our favourite chocolate that we got in Belgium came from Ghent.
Making chocolates! This was the place we got our favourite chocolates it is called Chocolaterie Luc Van Hoorebeke. The guy making the chocolates waved to Ben right before I snapped this photo.
Ghent even has a castle. How cool.
